About me

Rahat Siddique is the Policy Manager at the Growth Co-Lab and Policy Fellow at HM Treasury. Her research interests are in UK economic policy and decarbonisation. Prior to joining the SPP, Rahat worked as an economist at the CBI where she was responsible for leading and developing the CBI’s positions on UK regulation and the future of domestic competition policy. Her work also included several projects exploring decarbonisation policies and fiscal incentives to meet the UK’s net zero commitments.

Rahat has also worked at the Centre for Economic Performance at the LSE, where she researched business dynamism and the UK’s productivity puzzle. In 2019 Rahat was commissioned by the BBC to develop and host a 6-episode economics podcast titled All About the Money discussing the growing challenges for Britain's young adults. She enjoys teaching, has taught students at LSE and Brunel universities applications of Python in economics. Rahat has a master’s degree in public policy and undergraduate degree in economics, both from the LSE.
