MAP at LSE Philosophy

Minorities And Philosophy (MAP) is an advocacy group for students and academics from a background that has been traditionally underrepresented in philosophy as well as allies: disabled, ethnic minorities, first generation university students, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, women, or working class. Our MAP Chapter at the LSE is a thriving community. We run a mentorship programme for MAP community members, a reading group, grad school application workshops, socials and more.

All students of our Department are automatically enrolled on our MAP Moodle page. If not, please get in touch!

If you would like to join the MAP community at LSE, please visit our Moodle Page, or reach out to the committee at Philosophy.Map.Committee@lse.ac.uk.

About Minorities and Philosophy (MAP)

MAP’s mission is to address structural injustices in academic philosophy and to remove barriers that impede participation in academic philosophy for members of marginalised groups. Through their international organising team and graduate student-led network of autonomous chapters around the world, they aim to examine and dismantle mechanisms that prevent students from marginalised groups from participating in academic philosophy.

Additionally, they promote philosophical work done from marginalised perspectives, and help improve working conditions for scholars from marginalised backgrounds. More information about MAP international is available here.
