We’re pleased to welcome three new staff members at LSE Philosophy! Xinhe Wu and Weng Kin San will join the Department as Assistant Professors. Further, we are happy that Nadia Blackshaw will join us as LSE Fellow for the next two years.

Xinhe Wu will join the Department in September 2024. Prior to joining LSE, Xinhe was an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at North Carolina State University. Before that, she was a Research Associate on the ERC project “Truth and Semantics” at the University of Bristol. Xinhe earned her PhD in philosophy from MIT. She is also an associate editor for Erkenntnis and works primarily on philosophical logic, mathematical logic, metaphysics, and the philosophy of language. Xinhe is especially interested in Boolean-valued models, vagueness and indeterminacy, semantic paradoxes, set theory, formal theories of truth, and truthmaker semantics.

Weng Kin San will join the Department in September 2025. Kin is currently a PhD student at the University of Southern California, before which he did the BPhil at the University of Oxford and a joint undergraduate degree at the National University of Singapore and the Australian National University. Kin’s areas of research are primarily in ethics, epistemology, decision theory, and logic. His current projects are on distributive ethics and on the notion of evidential support.

Nadia Blackshaw will join the Department in September 2024 as LSE Fellow in Philosophy of Science and Philosophy of Physics. Nadia received her PhD in Philosophy at the University of Bristol. Her main area of research is the philosophy of physics with a focus on foundations of quantum theory and Everettian Quantum Mechanics. She also researches more general philosophy of science and topics in the philosophy of mind.
