LSE Professor and Head of the Philosophy Department Prof. Alex Voorhoeve receives LSE funding to generate impact of his research on open and inclusive processes for health financing.

Prof. Voorhoeve has contributed extensively to a new report: Open and Inclusive: Fair Processes for Financing Universal Health Coverage which will soon be published by the World Bank. The LSE Impact Funding will support bringing this report’s key messages to the attention of leading policymakers in health financing from around the world and engage them in a dialogue about its findings and about how its recommendations might be implemented in practice. It goes towards organising a workshop at the World Bank’s high profile Annual Health Financing Forum and enabling a set of lower and middle-income country policymakers with specific competence in the process of making health financing decisions to attend. The longer-term objective is to make health financing decisions in lower and middle-income countries more equitable and participatory, and hence more legitimate.
