Thesis: 'Probing the Ethics of Development Aid: a Case Study of Kenya'

My research examines the moral legitimacy of development aid in Kenya, focusing on the gap between ethical claims and actual behaviour. Using mixed methods, my thesis compares the ethical standards of Kenyan recipients against the rhetoric and practice of Traditional and Chinese donors. By empirically testing if moral considerations influence aid selection, the thesis attempts to conclude by proposing a Rawlsian overlapping consensus to establish minimal ethical principles acceptable to all stakeholders.
