Bio
Oscar Timmermans is an Assistant Professor in Accounting at the London School of Economics. He earned his Ph.D. from Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics in 2021, during which he was a visiting Ph.D. student at The Wharton School.
He is interested in research on incentives and compensation, contracting, corporate governance, and labor market matching, with a particular focus on the design and effects of incentives for both managers and employees. His work is economics-based and combines theory with large-scale empirical analysis.
He has several publications in journals such as Journal of Accounting Research, Management Science, and The Accounting Review. Oscar coordinates and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in management accounting and control.
