Korinna Schönhärl

Korinna Schönhärl is Professor of Modern History at Trier University, Germany. She studied at the universities of Regensburg and Thessaloniki and has taught in Frankfurt, Duisburg-Essen, Karlsruhe, Lyon and Paderborn. In the academic year 2026/27 she is Gerda-Henkel Visiting Professor at the Department of International History LSE and the German Historical Institute London (GHIL).

Key expertise:

Professor Schönhärl's expertise lies in the field of nineteenth- and twentieth-century history, with a focus on social, economic, and financial history. She is particularly interested in historiographical methods and postcolonial perspectives. Alongside Germany and Central Europe, she is also a specialist in the history of modern Greece, Spain, and the USA.
