Kat is a Research Officer in the Health Inequalities Lab, working with Dr Emilie Courtin on the Lifelong project. She is also a PhD student at the University of Oxford, based at the Nuffield Department of Population Health and the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science.
Her doctoral research asks what gut microbiome data actually add to population health research. Using the US Add Health cohort, she studies how socioeconomic position shapes the gut microbiome across the life course, and whether microbiome measures improve prediction of cardiometabolic disease.
