Dr Chaloka Beyani was recently interviewed by the BBC World Service about Dominic Ongwen’s conviction at the International Criminal Court. In the interview, he suggested that Dominic Ongwen would be sentenced between 20 to 30 years and that his conviction had redeemed the standing of the Court following the spectacular acquittal of Jean-Pierre Bemba from DRC and Laurent Gbagbo, the former President of Ivory Coast. The International Criminal Court gave Dominic Ongwen a 25 year sentence for crimes against humanity and war crimes.
