Looking for Legal Advice?

We aim to improve access to justice by providing free, confidential legal advice to members of the public on a range of issues. The clinic offers students the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience designed to enhance their employability.

LSE Legal Advice Centre provides free legal advice to members of the public.

Trained law students, working under the supervision of qualified lawyers, interview clients to understand their problems and research the issues involved. Clients typically receive a written letter of advice within three weeks of the initial interview.

We are part of the LawWorks Clinics Network.

Areas we can help with:

We are able to provide one-off written advice on the following issues only:

  • Employment law
  • Family law
  • Personal injury
  • Contested probate
  • Public protest

For personal injury, contested probate, and public protest cases, we are partnering with leading London law firm Hodge Jones and Allen. Clients are seen by a specialist solicitor who provides one-off verbal advice during the appointment. Students take detailed notes, and the advice is confirmed in writing within two weeks.
