Please note that, unless otherwise stated, all events are for Centre for Language Studies only.
Some events are compulsory for new students - these are labelled. All other events are optional, but we encourage you to come along to as much as possible while you're getting to know each other, the campus, and London!
Undergraduate Programmes Welcome Schedule
Campus Enrolment
Compulsory for new students on the BSc International Relations and Chinese/BSc Language, Culture and Society
1.45-2.00 | Ground Floor, Marshall Building
Campus enrolment is where the School will check your official documents, including passport and visa. This cannot be done online, you must attend in person and you must have already completed online pre-enrolment. Once you have completed campus enrolment, you will be issued your LSE ID card, giving you access to the campus, teaching and services.

How we look out for and support you
You will be allocated an Academic mentor. They are here to help and support you if you have any worries or concerns. We will let uou know who your Academic mentor is either in a pre-arrival communication or during Welcome. You can see who the current Academic Mentors in the Centrre for Langugae Studies on our Who to contact information page for current students.
Please do not forget to to sign up for the Student Hub and follow the Centre for Language Studies page. We set up a group, each year, for each cohort so please follow yours, Centre for Language Studies BSc students 2026/27 as we will regularly post key information on the Student Hub throughout the year.
You will also be able to make appointments to see teaching staff via Bookings on the Student Hub, see you timetable and events and much more.
Space in London and at LSE is at a premium. So, we have an exclusive study space, The Huddle (STC.02 St Clements) for Centre for Language Studies BSc students.
Opening times are 10.00am - 7.00pm Monday-Friday during term time. Whilst The Huddle is your space and the entrance is controlled, please do not leave any personal items unatttended.
In the Centre for Language Studies we have always had small class sizes and we have increased our personal approach with more 1-2-1 support, small group tutorials and additional support from Academic mentors.
We have a Current Students website that carries important information for you, including your handbook and contact information you can refer to.
We have a regular newsletter during term time and we will also let you know about things that might interest you via the Student Hub (see below).
