About me

Maria Clara is the Managing Editor of the LSE Latin America and Caribbean blog.

She is an experienced editor focusing on foreign affairs and has worked as a correspondent in Europe and Latin America.

Prior to her job at the LACC, Maria Clara has worked for BBC Minute en Español, a project from the BBC World Service, oriented to Latin American audiences. Previously, she was in charge of the Spanish edition of the European media platform Forum.eu, worked as a producer and correspondent in Spain for W Radio and was a news fellow for the Spanish News Agency (EFE) for two years in Madrid and Lima.

Maria Clara was born in Colombia and grew up in Spain. She holds a masters degree in International Journalism (UNED, Spain) and she always keeps a close eye on the innovations, current affairs and a general state of media in Latin America. In 2020 she created Confinados en los márgenes, a podcast series focusing on how migrant communities dealt with the pandemic in Spain funded by the European Journalism Centre.
