Stonex PhD Scholarship (LSE IDEAS and Department of International Relations)

LSE IDEAS is announcing a new PhD Scholarship to begin in September 2021. The deadline for application is 14 January 2021.

Eligibility

Proposed PhD topics may cover any aspect of the following research areas:

  • China Foreign Policy and Security
  • Digital Diplomacy

Applicants are required to possess a master's degree in International Relations with distinction in the dissertation. Please refer to the MPhil/PhD programme page which outlines our requirements.

The successful candidate will undertake a four-year programme at the International Relations Department and will be contributing 7-10 hours per week to the work of LSE IDEAS, LSE’s foreign policy think tank.

This scholarship is for citizens or residents of the UK. International applicants are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the research proposal submitted.

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship is a fixed amount per year, for a total of four years. It covers the tuition fees and a living costs stipend for a UK PhD student. The scholarship amount is £25,000 per year.

This scholarship is funded by a generous donation from Mr Cato Stonex (LSE BSc International Relations 1986).
