The Global Priorities Research Group
We bring the expertise of philosophers to bear in determining which problems matter most and what should be done in trying to realize the best outcomes for humanity and the wider world.
Our research aims to help institutions and individuals decide among competing ethical priorities. We put particular emphasis on the priorities suggested by impartial considerations of wellbeing, ethical questions arising in light of that ranking, and research with clear, actionable recommendations.
Research Priorities

Mind and Value
We aim to determine how to assess and weight impacts on the welfare and agency of different kinds of minds, be they human, animal, or other.

Foundations
We explore fundamental issues related to value and rational choice with the potential to surface novel cross-cutting considerations.
