Anti-fascist economics

Co-hosted by Alternatives to Capitalism and the Ralph Miliband Programme Programme
In-person public event (Old Theatre, Old Building)
Tuesday 24 November 2026 7pm - 8.30pm

Speaker

Isabella Weber

What must we do to establish an economic system that centres people’s needs and dignity, while also serving democracy?

Amid the consolidation of far-right movements around the globe, Isabella Weber invites us to think about a new economic paradigm to halt the rise of fascism. Her new book, Anti-Fascist Economics: In Defence of Affordability, Dignity and Democracy (2026), explores why affordability constitutes the foundation of democracy.

Join us for a provocative and inspiring conversation between Isabella Weber and Lea Ypi as we explore these questions.
