Geopolitical risk in the era of Trump

Wednesday 3 December 2025

What is the future of the transatlantic alliance? What are the likely scenarios for the Russia/Ukraine war? Is Macron going to be forced into an early presidential election? Will China invade Taiwan? Will the US invade Greenland? Will the Gaza ceasefire hold?

These are just some of the questions Eurasia Group analysts are working on for the 900 clients they advise.

Yesterday afternoon, we were delighted to welcome Mujtaba Rahman, Managing Director of Eurasia Group’s Europe analysis and co-head of their London office, as well as Visiting Research Fellow at LSE, for an exclusive talk to our master’s students on “Geopolitical risk in the era of Trump.” In this two-hour long talk, Mr Rahman discussed his views on the major geopolitical issues the world is confronting, and what it’s like to work in the political risk industry.

Thank you for the insightful and timely session for our students!
