The European Institute is looking for Student Content Creators!

This role will sit within our External Engagement (ECAR) Team, reporting directly to our Digital Communications Officer. Our ECAR Team engages with our global community, from prospective and current students, to our amazing alumni, to researchers and donors, as well as the wider public interested in learning about Europe and the world. We put on the EI’s public events programme and engage with our alumni to build community and support between current and graduate students.

Our team makes sure that the European Institute remains attractive and relevant to all our different stakeholders, including prospective students, by communicating on the Institute’s wide-ranging activities throughout the year (spanning from teaching, research, public events, and alumni). We do this via our website and social media channels using a variety of content and campaigns, including student and alumni testimonials, event photos, interviews with our academics, and our Annual Report.

We are looking for Master’s and PhD students within the LSE European Institute to support our team with the creation of video content for our social media channels. Our goal is to appeal to prospective students by sharing more content by and for students, highlighting your authentic point of view and experience as a student at LSE. Whether you are a home student, international student, double degree student, or PhD candidate – we want to hear from you! The more perspectives, the better.

This opportunity is a great way for you to gain new skills, as well as develop your existing ones, and to work closely with the team behind the LSE European Institute. You'll gain valuable communication and video-editing skills, and experience in creating inspiring and informative content that reaches thousands of students.

As a Student Content Creator, you'll be creating content that depicts life at the LSE European Institute for prospective students and supporting our Digital Communications Officer.

Relevant tasks will include:

• Content ideation, research, and planning
• Short-form content creation (from your point of view as a student)
• Broader support with content creation and campaigns (fe.g. tying ‘social media days’ to the EI – e.g. International Women’s Day EI Edition)
• Providing ad hoc support with comms tasks

• This is a flexible, hourly-based role.
• Renumeration: £18.45 per hour (Band 3).
• Expected to produce 1-2 videos per term.
• Will be asked to support with additional communications tasks as listed above.

Previous experience with social media and video editing is desirablebut not essential, however a creative eye, attention to detail, adaptability, and motivation to learn is a must. Candidates should also have excellent communication and teamwork skills; a positive proactive approach to work; and an outgoing and friendly manner.

You must be a current European Institute student who is able to commit to working for at least the full 2024/25 academic year.
