British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship

The British Academy runs a prestigious annual competition for three-year postdoctoral fellowships. Usually, the final application date is at the start of October.

Applicants must have an established connection to the UK and be within around three years since the date of their viva. Please find and carefully check further details about eligibility on the British Academy website.

If you would like CPNSS/LSE Philosophy to support your application, you must first confirm our support. A final decision on who we can support will be made in mid-August.

To be considered, please email the CPNSS Director, Dr Lewis Ross (Email: L.ross2@lse.ac.uk) with the following:
  • A short CV
  • A brief research proposal
  • The name of a proposed mentor within LSE Philosophy.

Please note that this scheme is highly competitive. Successful candidates typically have publications in leading philosophy journals. We are only able to support applicants with a strong research record in English-language journals and whose work aligns with the research strengths of LSE Philosophy.

You can only apply to this scheme once. If you apply before your profile is strong enough, you will not be able to apply again in the future. We therefore encourage you to apply only when your profile is fully competitive.
