CPNSS engages in a variety of events and initiatives to make Philosophy more visible and accessible. This includes our seminar series that are free and open to all as well as public lectures and more.

Seminar Series

CPNSS hosts a variety of regular seminars on different areas of philosophy. These seminars bring leading scholars to London, as well as providing our own researchers with the opportunity to present their latest work.

Public Lectures

CPNSS hosts and participates in the LSE public lecture programme, where we invite world-leading philosophers and thinkers to discuss current topics ranging from AI, to animal welfare and ethics. All events are free and open to all.

Philosophy in Prison Project

As of the start of Autumn Term 2025, CPNSS faculty and researchers have volunteered to teach and lead discussions with prisoners throughout the UK in collaboration with the Philosophy in Prison charity. Philosophy in Prison is a charity set up in 2018 to promote philosophical education in prisons and to explore the practical and philosophical principles that this involves. ​
