2018年3月19 日，伦敦商务孔子学院下属德威公学孔子课堂主办的2017-2018学年 “汉语技能大赛”在德威公学正式举行。
参加此次比赛的选手均为德威公学13年级汉语班学生。比赛由孔子课堂汉语教师廖盾老师策划、主持，德威公学汉语教学部负责人Andrew Stark先生和伦敦商务孔子学院中方院长程伟民老师担任评委。
比赛分为抢答、必答、口语听说三个环节，涵盖汉字、成语、翻译、主题会话等内容。在热烈的气氛中，选手们先后展示了中文听说读写各项技能，优异者获得孔院颁发的获奖证书和孔子学院奖学金推荐。
此次活动展现了德威公学孔子课堂的阶段性教学成果，有助于激发和保持学生对汉语的学习热情。德威公学现代外语教学部门负责人 Nick Mair先生对此给予了充分肯定与支持。
On 19 March 2018, Confucius Institute for Business London organised ‘The 2017-2018 Chinese Competition’ in Dulwich College.
The contestants are all from Year 13 Chinese Group at Dulwich College, the event was chaired by Mr Dun Liao, Mr Andrew Stark, and Professor Weimin Cheng served as judges of the Competition.
The competition was consisted of 3 sections: quick fire questions, mandatory questions, spoken dialogues, including proverbs, Chinese writing, translation and conversation topics. In a warm atmosphere , the contestants used different kinds of forms to show their Chinese language skills. The award ceremony right following the final selection and the winners were awarded certificates respectively .The winners will also have the opportunity to get the Confucius Institute Scholarship.
The activity helped to stimulate and maintain students' enthusiasm of learning Chinese and demonstrated the staged teaching achievements of the D&C Confucius Classroom. At the same time, the Head of Modern Foreign Language at Dulwich College fully affirmed and supported the teaching of the Confucius Classroom.
