On 18 October 2017, the Confucius Institute for Business London organised the first China Business Briefing for the academic year, “Sino-British Business Cooperation – Opportunities and Challenges” at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
The forum was chaired by Mr Zhang Shengxing, Associate Professor of Economics at LSE. CIBL was privileged to have three experienced business executives to speak at the event – Mr Fergus Hay (CEO of Leagas Delaney Ltd.), Mr Zhu Jian (Vice Chairman of Far East Group) and Mr John McLean (former Chairman of VSO China). The event commenced at 6:30pm. Each speaker gave a keynote speech on the road to success based on their personal experiences from working with China and the UK. The audience was greatly intrigued by the case studies and was enthusiastic to ask questions when Mr Zhang opened the floor for discussions.
Participants and guest speakers were invited for a networking session afterwards at the CIBL office. The event received very positive feedback. Participants enjoyed the warm and engaging dialogue in the forum, and expressed keen interest in the future China Business Briefings to come.
2017年10月18日，伦敦商务孔子学院在伦敦政治经济学院举办了2017中国商务座谈会系列的首场——“中英商务合作——机遇和挑战”。座谈会由伦敦政治经济学院经济学助理教授张胜醒博士主持，Leagas Delaney有限公司CEO Fergus Hay先生、远东集团副董事长朱健先生、VSO中国前董事长John McLean先生，作为受邀嘉宾，轮流向与会者分享各自在中国经商以及中资企业国际化的相关经历和经验。
座谈会于下午六点三十分准时开始，近百名与会者聆听了嘉宾们的精彩分享，各种真实案例引起与会者的强烈共鸣，随后的自由问答环节，台上台下讨论热烈。会后不少听众反映：这样的座谈会形式活泼、风格亲切、内容贴近实际，有助于中英双方民众增进对彼此的了解与互信。
