Obituary for Miranda Germani (MSc Health Economics, Policy and Management 2016)
24 February 1985 - 2 October 2021

On 2 October 2021 Miranda Germani, a valued serving member of the Alumni Association Executive Committee (EC) tragically passed away.

At the time of her tragic departure Miranda was well into her second term on the EC overseeing Alumni Volunteer Engagement. In the last four years her contributions and dedication have had a great impact on volunteering throughout LSE. Miranda would always be the first to volunteer for tasks, she strategised for the committee and was always present (even in her last days) and advocated regional networking, reaching out to alumni in Canada to strengthen the imprint she made as a senior alumni volunteer.

Miranda studied at LSE in 2016, where she graduated with an MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management. Miranda strongly believed in giving back. She received the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers, presented by the Governor General of Canada, in recognition of her commitment to community. As a member of the LSE Alumni Executive Committee Miranda dedicated considerable time and effort in shaping volunteer activity with the EC and members of the School’s engagement team. Aside from LSE, Miranda was a Mentor and Facilitator with Girls E-Mentorship, and a Marketing Lead with Women Who Lead.

Miranda’s unexpected, untimely departure has left a huge void amongst the LSE Alumni Association Executive Committee and the School as a whole. She is missed by all very much.
