LSE is proud to serve, engage and work in partnership with our alumni and friends who share our vision of understanding the causes of things for the betterment of society.
The LSE Alumni Engagement team
The Alumni Engagement team are here to engage and partner with our 245,000 plus alumni community all around the world.
We have a particular focus on:
- creating volunteer programmes to support our 300,000 hour target for the Shaping the World Campaign
- engaging our global constituent base through in person activities in partnership with our 130 Global Alumni Groups, and Professional and Inclusion Networks
- creating online and learning resources to support our community
- developing an inclusive and connected network
- working with alumni to support our students
- and creating a home on campus at the LSE Alumni Centre.
The Alumni Engagement team is part of LSE's Philanthropy and Global Engagement Division (PAGE).

The LSE Alumni Centre is your home on campus with space to work, relax, learn and reconnect with friends. It’s the perfect base to start your trip to campus – pick up one of our self-guided tours, collect your alumni campus card, or simply relax in our lounge with complimentary refreshments and newspapers.
The Alumni Centre is located on the ground floor of the Centre Building and is open weekdays 9:30am - 5pm and closed on weekends and UK Bank Holidays.
Please note Alumni Centre may occasionally be closed for School or team events such as graduation. This terms we will be closed:
- Tuesday 8 December
- Monday 14 - Thursday 17 December
The meeting room in the Alumni Centre is also available to be booked and seats up to ten people boardroom style. The room is perfect for online or in-person meetings. It has AV facilities to connect your laptop but please note you must have a USB-C port.

Every LSE alumna and alumnus who has completed a full term of study as a registered student is a member of the LSE Alumni Association. The Association represents the interests of all LSE alumni and helps to strengthen relationships between alumni, between alumni and the School and between the School and alumni – by providing advice on alumni engagement programming, and supporting the broader objectives of LSE in engaging its international alumni community in a reciprocal relationship.
One of the most wonderful things that has come out of the Alumni Association is the global friendship it promotes.
The Global Alumni Board
The Global Alumni Board is the principal alumni leadership body of the LSE Alumni Association. Board members represent the interests of the global alumni community, providing strategic insight, acting as ambassadors for the School, and helping to strengthen engagement between alumni and LSE.
The 2026-29 Board is comprised of 12 alumni volunteer members alongside three LSE staff members.
The Board is chaired by Fongtien Miao, MSc Media and Communications Regulations and Policy 2005.
Alongside the Global Alumni Board, the Regional Liaison Committee helps connect the School with its recognised alumni groups and networks, ensuring two-way communication between alumni communities and LSE.

Our thanks to the 12 alumni volunteers, led by Chair Thomas Kern (MSc Public Policy and Administration 1979), who served on the 2023-26 Global Alumni Board.
