Bio
Jiachen holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Macau (2022) and a master’s degree in Accounting, Organizations and Institutions from the LSE (2023). She is broadly interested in the governance of sustainability issues in global supply chains.
Her doctoral research examines how human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD) is interpreted and implemented in practice, particularly amid Europe’s evolving regulatory landscape. She focuses on how normative expectations could be translated into governance arrangements and risk management practices, including through the use of digital platforms, traceability technologies and data infrastructures. She is especially interested in how machine-generated insights interact with professional judgement and contextual knowledge.
Her research is primarily field-based, drawing on semi-structured interviews, case studies and engagement with practitioners across sectors. She looks forward to connecting with researchers and practitioners working in these areas and exploring opportunities for research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
