Singapore has painstakingly sort to preserve the cultural roots of its nation amidst land scarcity constraints and the pervading modernisation of its landscape. The tension between preservation and modernisation is contrasted between the traditional architecture of a Buddhist temple, and towering skyscrapers in the background. In the middleground, an ongoing construction site of the new Maxwell train station is captured.
