We’re pleased to announce the appointment of a new Assistant Professor to the Department, Jonathan Parry, who will be joining us in September.

Jonathan Parry joins us from the University of Birmingham, where he is currently a lecturer in philosophy. Prior to this he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Stockholm University. He completed his PhD in 2014 at the University of Sheffield.

Jonathan Specialises in moral and political philosophy, with a particular focus on the morality of harming and saving and on political authority and obligation.

In 2019-2020 Jonathan will lead our MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy and will teach three master’s level courses: PH416 – Philosophy, Morals and Politics, PH415 – Philosophy and Public Policy, and PH421 – Philosophy and Public Policy: Dissertation Seminar.

We look forward to welcoming Jonathan to the Department.
