We’re pleased to introduce our new podcast, Out of the Vat.

Brought to you by the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method, The Forum for Philosophy and the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science, Out of the Vat is a brand new (semi)regular podcast about philosophers’ work and philosophers’ lives, both inside and outside of philosophy.

In each new episode we speak to a different philosopher about their current research before delving deeper with such searching questions as “what is the most controversial philosophical position you’ve ever held?”, “what did you want to be when you grew up?” and “what is your favourite TV show?” Brains in vats may or may not be mentioned.

Out of the Vat Episode 1 features philosopher of science Professor Steven French on taking a phenomenological approach to quantum mechanics, and takes a brief detour into art-rock journalism.
