Dr Mike Wilkinson and Professor Dieter Grimm were recently interviewed by Leonardo Mellace on the topic “Europe in hard times”, in Ordines.
When asked why it is so difficult to define the European Union, Mike says “…rather than trying to define the EU, we should be trying to understand it, conceptualise it and historicise it. This will require a different approach depending on what we are seeking to explain: its legal system, its political form, its authority, its material contradictions, the reasons for its dynamic, its crises and so on…”
