Partnership milestones often take on greater significance over time.

This photograph captures the signing of our partnership with European Universities in Egypt (EUE), taken before the global pandemic reshaped higher education worldwide. What began as a shared academic vision has since developed into a strong and expanding collaboration, supporting students from enrolment through to graduation.

On 14 February, European Universities in Egypt welcomed Larry Kramer, President and Vice Chancellor of the London School of Economics and Political Science, alongside Dr James Abdey, to mark the graduation of its first Global Programmes cohort. The ceremony celebrated 17 graduates and represented an important moment in the continued development of LSE’s Global Programmes partnership in Egypt.

The event was attended by government ministers, representatives from the UK Embassy and the British Council, as well as colleagues from the University of London, highlighting the broader significance of transnational education and UK-Egypt academic collaboration. The formal proceedings concluded with a celebratory programme that underscored the scale and ambition of the institution’s growth.

Since admitting its first students, European Universities in Egypt has expanded rapidly and is projected to become one of LSE Global Programmes’ largest international partners in the coming years. The graduation ceremony not only recognised individual student achievement, but also demonstrated the strength and sustainability of this international academic partnership.

We extend our congratulations to the graduating cohort and look forward to supporting many more students through LSE Global Programmes in the years ahead.
