Booking accommodation
You can book accommodation online. Follow the 'book online' link on each hall page. To see which halls are available, visit: Accomodation for LSE Summer School.
There is an option within your LSE accommodation account for you to tell us that you would like us to book you accommodation for your Preparatory English Course. Please use this option and we will respond to you within 5 working days to advise if this is possible. If you omitted to check this option within your LSE accommodation account, please use our online contact form to request this.
You can book accommodation as soon as you have received your offer to study at the LSE Summer School. You must first have created your LSE Public Account as you will need to use the same username and password to access the LSE Accommodation booking system. Details on how to create an LSE Public Account will have been sent to you by the LSE Summer School office during your application process.
To share a room, all students must be attending the LSE Summer School. Each student needs to complete the booking process separately. If you would like us to allocate you with another student(s), all students must book the same room type, in the same hall, for the same dates.Twin rooms can be shared by students of the same sex only. If you feel you have exceptional circumstances that you would like us to consider, please specify these in the "Allocation Requests" field at the time you make your booking.To enable us to match roommates, both students must list each other as their preferred roommate at the time of booking. Please note that any roommate requests must be made at least 1 week prior to arrival.
Yes. If you do not have a preference for a roommate, we will match you with another Summer School student of the same gender.
No. We only have a limited number of rooms available, so we are unable to offer rooms to relatives as we need to ensure accommodation for LSE Summer School students. However, relatives can book rooms separately at: https://stayatlse.co.uk
Yes, subject to availability. Check at https://stayatlse.co.uk/ or contact stay@lse.ac.uk.
No. Accommodation for each session is for 20 nights and cannot be shortened.
Preparatory English Course accommodation is for 7 nights and cannot be shortened.
Paying for LSE Summer School accommodation
We strongly recommend that you pay your accommodation fees online via credit or debit card in your student accommodation portal. This will ensure your booking is confirmed instantly via email.
Payment via bank transfer
If you are unable to pay via credit or debit card you can pay via bank transfer. To do so, log into the online payment portal. Please be aware that charges can take up to 24 hours from booking to appear in your online payment portal.
Please ensure you select the summer school accommodation charges to make your payment against. Your payment must be received within 72 hours to avoid cancellation of your provisional booking.

No. In order to enable us to confirm your booking and secure your room, you will need to pay in full when you book your accommodation.
Halls, rooms and facilities
We have laundry facilities at each hall.

Yes, towels and bed linen are provided in all rooms, so you do not need to bring any.

Standard rooms have recently been refurbished and have more modern decor and furniture. Basic rooms are priced slightly lower than their 'standard' equivalent, but the general facilities will be similar.
Yes. A limited number of rooms in High Holborn Residence and Passfield Hall are wheelchair accessible some have adapted kitchen and bathroom facilities. Some rooms in other halls may be suitable for you as well, depending on what your needs are. To find the best option, please contact using the contact form on this page.

Breakfast is included in the fee you pay. But depending on which hall you are staying at, it is either served at the hall or on LSE campus and either included for five or seven days. For full details, check the page for each hall.

One hall have gym facilities on site:
- urbanest Wesminster Bridge has a gym room, sauna and swimming pool. Access will be free of charge for students who register at reception to use these facilities. Please note some maintenance works will be completed over the summer, so access may be limited at times and subject to availability.
During LSE Summer School, you're welcome to use the LSE Students' Union gym.
No. Our halls operate a no-guest policy during LSE Summer School. No overnight guests are permitted.
No. Any mail arriving for you before you check in will be refused. Unfortunately we just don’t have the storage space to keep all mail before LSE Summer School starts so please do not send any post prior to arrival.
Generally, each floor has a kitchen area with a microwave, toaster, kettle. Cutlery and crockery is not provided, however some may be left behind in the kitchens by our students as part of our environmental resuse scheme.

No. We will provide you with towels, bed linen, a duvet and a pillow.
Yes, our residences have a limited number of hair dryers. Ask reception for details once you have checked in.
The common areas of the building are cleaned daily and your room will be cleaned once a week.
No. None of the rooms are air-conditioned.
Arrival and departure
Check-in is from 3pm onwards on your day of arrival, except for Westminster Bridge and Sidney Webb House where check-in is from 4pm.
If you have booked and paid for an early arrival for the Saturday before your main Summer School session check-in is 4pm.
Please check your confirmation email for your exact check-in time.
Check-out is by 10.30am on the day of your departure. If you don't leave your room on time we will need to charge you extra.
If you need to leave luggage with us, please check with reception on arrival and they will guide you to a designated area. Please note, we have limited availability and you may need to wait with your luggage. No storage overnight.

Cancelling or amending your accommodation booking
You can receive a full refund of the accommodation fees if you cancel up to 21 days before arrival. For more information, view the LSE Summer School accommodation terms and conditions [PDF]
The quickest way to submit a cancellation request is to use the 'Cancel' option online from within your LSE Accommodation Account. If you are not able to do this, please use our online contact form to submit your cancellation request.
Please note we only accept online cancellations via our contact form or online cancellation requests submitted within the LSE Accommodation portal. Cancellation of your study programme does not automatically mean that your accommodation is cancelled.
Yes, but only if you cancel more than 21 days before arrival. Our cancellation policy is set out below:

No. Your accommodation must be cancelled in writing by the person named on the booking. The quickest way to submit a cancellation request is to use the 'Cancel' option online from within your LSE Accommodation Account. If you are not able to do this, please use our online contact form to submit your cancellation request.
No, LSE halls are exclusively available for LSE students. If you withdraw from the programme you will be expected to vacate your room 24 hours after the official withdrawal. Please note that fees are not refundable in the event that you withdraw from your program.
If you need to arrive one day early, or to extend your stay, or to move your stay to a different session, please use our online contact form to submit your request. If you would like to amend your booking to a different hall, please use the 'Cancel' option online from within your LSE Accommodation Account or if you are unable to do this, please use our online contact form to request a cancellation. Once your current accommodation has been cancelled, you will be able to login and select a different hall, subject to availability.
