Our campus
Welcome to LSE
LSE is based on one campus in the centre of London. Despite the busy feel of the surrounding area, many of the streets around campus are pedestrianised, meaning the campus feels like a real community.
LSE looks out over the London skyline, rather than green fields. It is a stimulating location, connected to a vibrant capital city bursting with opportunities and rich with culture.
Next door to campus is the Royal Courts of Justice building, while the financial district, Westminster and the Houses of Parliament are all within easy reach. This makes for an exciting place to study, especially if you're hoping to work in finance, politics or law.
It's not just about study: around the corner, you'll find Covent Garden, London's heart of theatre, dance and film, as well as world-famous galleries, museums and attractions.
LSE offers all the facilities to support your studies that you would expect from a world-leading institution. Make sure you also read about support during your studies.
LSE Library
Founded in 1896, the British Library of Political and Economic Science is the major international library of the social sciences. The Library offers long opening hours, excellent resources and a superb study environment for students.

It is the home of the LSE Students' Union (LSESU); cafés, the student pub and a nightclub; study spaces; a gym and exercise studio; a roof terrace; and student-focused services like LSE Careers.
As well as providing great resources for students, it is an excellent addition to the LSE campus as an award-winning example of architecture and sustainability.

LSE takes its students’ safety very seriously. London carries the risks associated with urban areas, for example pickpocketing in busy crowds - but if sensible precautions are taken, students are likely to have a crime-free time in London. Read student Aarna's blog on the best steps to take if your phone is stolen in London or near LSE campus.
Study UK from the British Council has lots of advice about safety. LSE’s campus security team makes sure that students are aware of ways to stay safe, and how to protect belongings like laptops and bicycles.
