The Generative AI Practitioner Certificate

The Generative AI Practitioner Certificate was a partnership between the Department of Statistics and Practera towards a virtual employability programme designed to equip students with the necessary skills to develop effective generative AI solutions.

The partnership ran between March and December 2025 and offered 25 undergraduate students access to self-paced modules, simulated team projects, industry panels, and a real-industry micro internship.

Feedback collected through an AI Literacy Framework covering ethics and governance, technical understanding of AI tools, professional applications, evaluation of AI outputs, and practical implementation showed 79% to 86% increase in students’ confidence and technical skills.
