About me

I am a Research Officer at LSE in the Department of Social Policy and PhD Candidate in Social Sciences at the UCL Social Research Institute (Institute of Education, IOE).

My research focuses on the areas of gender, child development and human capital. I have been working first on what type of maternal knowledge (general vs practical) is more beneficial for children´s health endowments in order to unpack the detailed mechanisms driving the inter-generational transmission of inequality. I am also working on the origin and transmission of gender inequalities in education (see article and book chapter here) and gender differences in reactions to performance shocks. Aiming also to understand gender gaps in education, I am currently writing an article on the effects of parental implicit gender bias on a variety of children’s outcomes using the Gender Implicit Association Test, which is a behavioural tool that measures parents gender attitudes. Last, my most current project evaluates a computer intervention that targeted primary schools in the region of Madrid (Spain) focused on correcting students ‘reading and writing difficulties derived from dyslexia (see preliminary report here) .
