Camila Arroyo is a Policy Officer at the Growth Co-Lab, the applied research unit in collaboration with the Growth Lab at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is working on advanced applied research and supporting the Confederation of Tanzania’s industries in its formulation of policies to accelerate economic growth and inclusion.

She holds a Master's degree in Economic Analysis from the University of Chile and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from LSE. Her expertise is related to economic development topics, focusing mainly in productivity, human capital, gender, health, and education. Before joining the SPP, she worked for over five years in the public sector in Latin America, conducting applied research to contribute to the implementation and evaluation of public policies in Chile. She worked in the National Productivity Commission, an office of the Ministry of Economy, being responsible for the formulation of recommendations to improve the educational and health system. She also worked in a think tank, contributing to improve the debate, design, and implementation of public policies in education, labour and health.

Besides her experience in the public sector, Camila worked for multilateral institutions such as the International American Development Bank (IADB), where she assessed the effectiveness of policies carried out by the Chilean government during the COVID-19 pandemic and proposed a guideline with best practices that could inspire initiatives in other countries of the region. Additionally, Camila worked for the OECD where she joined senior researchers to conduct applied research on skills and the returns in labor markets.
