Graduation 2026
Congratulations to the School of Public Policy Class of 2026!
Last week, the SPP community came together to celebrate the achievements of our graduating students at this year's graduation ceremony. Joined by family, friends, faculty and staff, graduates marked the successful completion of their studies and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
The ceremony recognised 250 graduates, representing 50+ nationalities from the Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Public Policy (MPP), MPA Double Degrees, MPA in Data Science for Public Policy (MPA DSPP) and Executive programmes.
The diverse and talented cohort celebrated not only their academic achievements, but also the vibrant community they built during their time at LSE SPP. Through shared learning experiences, lasting friendships with peers, faculty, and practitioners from around the world, graduates became part of a global network united by a commitment to public service and evidence-based policymaking.
As part of the celebrations, we were delighted to welcome MPP Class of 2023 alumna Fernanda Ferreccio back to campus to welcome our new graduates to the alumni community and offer words of encouragement as they prepare for their next steps:
“Graduation is not the moment when you need to have all the answers. It is the beginning of testing what you know and what you can do in the world, while staying open to paths you did not expect.”
We were also pleased to welcome back our MPA double degree students who have just completed their second year of study at our partner universities, Columbia SIPA and University of Toronto. Reflecting on his time at SPP, MPA Double Degree (LSE SPP and Columbia SIPA) graduate Achilles Tsirgis spoke to the new graduates about the importance of the people who had supported students throughout their journey and the responsibility that comes with their achievements, saying:
"This achievement would be impossible without the support of our families, our friends, our loved ones. These are the people who have made us who we are. They have been there at our highs and lows, heard our concerns, advised us and, most importantly, entertained our dreams. It is now our responsibility to put these efforts to good use and one day return the kindness."
The ceremony also marked a significant milestone for SPP, as Professor Andrés Velasco delivered his final graduation address as Dean of the School of Public Policy. During his address, he reflected on the achievements of the graduating class and encouraged students to use their knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in the world. While this marked the end of his time leading SPP, Professor Velasco will remain an integral part of the SPP community as a member of the faculty, continuing to teach and engage with students.
The celebrations continued throughout the day as graduates reunited with classmates, faculty and loved ones to commemorate this important milestone and reflect on the friendships and experiences that have shaped their time at SPP.
Our graduates now join a global community of over 3,000 School of Public Policy alumni working across governments, international organisations, businesses and the non-profit sector to address some of the world's most pressing policy challenges.
