Yukie joined LSE in 2014 and is currently teaching on non-degree beginner and intermediate courses. She was awarded an Education Excellence Award in 2016 and a Contribution Excellence Award in 2021 at LSE.
Yukie has also been a Japanese lecturer in a Japanese School for over twenty years and an invigilator for JLPT. She has been teaching Japanese as a foreign language for more than twenty years to students from diverse backgrounds. She also has extensive experience in dealing with business people, in particular, employees of banks, diplomats and other financial institutions as she has worked in financial contexts in the City; as well as regularly contributing to financial articles for Asahi Shimbun (Japanese national newspaper).
She holds a BA in Japanese literature in Japan and an MA in the UK. Yukie has studied Japanese and Chinese classical literature as well. She is always interested in developing innovative teaching and learning.
