Umair Ahsan has taught at LSE since 2019. He specialises in creating and teaching language and communication courses for specific academic purposes.
He has previously served as a Visiting Lecturer and Course Director at some of Europe's leading universities. From 2012 – 2019 he lived in Turkey, where he taught at a number of universities around the country.
Umair is currently a PhD candidate at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). His research examines how shared discourse systems develop within multilateral diplomatic settings, with a specific focus on the impact of China's engagements with major Global South groupings.
