Dr Tiziano Zgaga is a political scientist working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at LMU Munich, Germany.
He is the Principal Investigator of the three-year project (2025-2028) “Towards a post-pandemic fiscal union? Differentiated member state governance of EU money: the National Recovery and Resilience Plans (EUMONEY)”, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) and conducted at the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute of Political Science at the LMU Munich, where he also teaches and pursues his habilitation in Political Science. In May and June 2026, he was also Visiting Research Fellow at University College London (UCL), Department of Political Science and School of Public Policy.
Tiziano Zgaga's work appeared in the main political science and public administration journals, such as the Journal of European Public Policy, the Journal of Common Market Studies, the Journal of European Integration, Governance, and Regulation & Governance.
In addition, he is the author of “The Fiscal Governance of the European Union: Overcoming the Stability Paradigm?”, Palgrave Macmillan, European Administrative Governance series, 2026, and the co-author of “Policy Dynamics in the European Union” (with Eva Thomann and Kent Weaver), Cambridge Elements Series in European Politics, Cambridge University Press, 2026.
Tiziano Zgaga obtained a PhD in Political Science (2020), a Master in Law and Government of the European Union (2016), a Master’s Degree in International Relations (2015), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science (2013), all from Luiss University in Rome, Italy.
