About

In her research, Dr Suzanne Bloks is driven by a deep interest in how democratic institutions must be designed to uphold democratic values. Her research focuses both on foundational inquiries into the democratic values of autonomy and equality, and on empirically-informed inquiries into the design and legal regulation of democratic institutions, in particular elections and political parties.

She is currently working on two bigger projects: The first concerns autonomy-based justifications for democracy and the second is on the design of electoral districts (in particular, how the geographic-definition of electoral districts affects party competition).
