Spencer Dale was Chief Economist both at the Bank of England (including during the Financial Crisis) and at bp PLC (leading on their energy transition strategy). He has been a trusted advisor and counsellor for a range of individuals and institutions, including the Federal Reserve Board. This combination of public- and private-sector experience at the highest level makes Spencer uniquely well qualified to help build the work being undertaken by GSoS and colleagues across LSE on energy economics, the green transition and related matters.
