Zainab Oyiza Sanni is the Programme Officer, Programme for African Leadership at the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa.

In this role, she coordinates the implementation of the Institute's engagement strategy with African identifying postgraduate students at the London School of Economics and Politics, LSE. Her work involves managing a portfolio of events, partnerships and communication activities to support the positioning of LSE postgraduate students as future leaders of Africa.

Prior to her work at the Institute, she was a journalist, with almost a decade of experience in development communication, advocacy and factchecking. Zainab led several impactful projects such as producing Climate Chat, an African TV show to advocate for climate justice; combatting misuse of AI and information disorders through initiatives like Facts Inclusive, a project aimed at helping persons with hearing and visual impairments access critical information and advocating against harmful practices affecting women in Nigeria. She holds an Msc in Media Communications & Development from LSE, where she won the 2024/2025 excellence in media, communications & development graduating prize.

At the core of her work is a keen interest in utilising research, events and communications to advocate for and support underserved communities towards contributing to a fairer world.
