Shafaq Ashraf

About
Shafaq is a Policy Fellow and Research Project Manager at the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre (TPI Centre).
The TPI Centre provides asset owners and managers with publicly available data on the climate performance of companies, banks and countries. She manages the Climate Action 100+ (CA100+) project, leads the methodology development of the CA100+ Net Zero Company Benchmark Disclosure Framework and oversees the assessments and analysis of how companies perform relative to the Framework. She also contributes to the development of various TPI Centre methodologies and reports.
Background
Shafaq holds a BSc (Honors) in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences and completed a Masters in Global Development from Queen Mary, University of London. Shafaq also completed a summer semester at London School of Economics during her bachelors. Previously, she has worked on different projects focused on environmental sustainability in urban, rural and agricultural context with the Asian Development Bank and Oxfam GB.

This publication consists of a series of short articles in which political and business leaders, academics and leading figures from the world of finance and climate governance outline the role of finance in tackling climate change and supporting a just transition.
The publication includes an article by Nick Robins on transforming the financial system and an article by Shafaq Ashraf and Sangeeth Selvaraju on whether corporations allocating capital towards climate action.
