About

Olivier Kooi is a Dutch economist specialising in geoeconomics, international trade, and political economy. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the London School of Economics, following the completion of his PhD in Economics at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on the economic foundations of national security policy, including resilience, deterrence, and industrial and trade policy in the context of great power competition. His work combines theoretical modelling with quantitative analysis and engages directly with policy debates on economic security, alliances, and strategic trade.
