Meiyan Zhao

Meiyan has been in the field of education since 2003 and holds a BA in English Studies and an MA in Chinese Language and Literature and was appointed as associate professor in China in 2017.

Meiyan taught Chinese (Mandarin) in several universities including Sichuan Normal University, China; Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland; Yonsei University, South Korea and CIBL, LSE before joining the Language Centre. She specialises in teaching HSK Chinese, Business Chinese, GCSE Chinese, YCT Chinese, degree and non-degree Chinese courses of all levels. She has been awarded ‘Outstanding Foreign Language Teacher' at Yonsei University and ‘Distinguished Contribution Award’ at CIBL, LSE.

Meiyan has participated in compiling two Chinese textbooks in South Korea and has served as a training officer for the ‘CTCSOL’ (Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages).
