Matthew O'Brien

Matthew is a PhD Economics candidate in the Department of Economics. His primary research interest is development economics.

Before joining the programme, he worked as a predoctoral research assistant in STICERD. He has also been employed as a data scientist at BEworks, Canada, and as a research assistant at the UBC Saunder School of Business.

Matthew holds an MSc in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
