About
Dr Marina Requena-i-Mora is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (ICTA-UAB) and a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science at LSE. She is currently working on the ERC-funded project Conservation Data Justice (CONDJUST) and is co-investigator of the Just Earth Observation for Conservation project (JEO4C).
Marina's research sits at the intersection of political ecology, ecological economics and environmental social science. She studies conservation data justice, sustainability indicators, environmental justice, degrowth, and critical approaches to green growth and decoupling. Her work examines how environmental problems are measured, modelled and governed, and how indicators, data and conservation priorities can reproduce or challenge social and environmental inequalities. She is currently working on the politics of conservation data and Earth observation, biases in conservation modelling, sustainability assessment, and the relationship between environmental opinions, economic growth and inequality.
