About
Mara is a PhD candidate in Social Research Methods, supervised by Thomas Robinson and Sara Hobolt.
Mara holds a BA in Sociology and an MA in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Bremen. Prior to starting her PhD, she was a Predoctoral Researcher in Computational Social Science on the ESRC-funded project "The Politics of Memory" at UCL’s Political Science Department, where she is currently a research and teaching assistant.
Research
Her doctoral research examines how British political elites have constructed and represented marginalization over the past century.
Methodologically, she works on developing validation approaches for computationally generated text measurements. Her broader research interests include the reproduction of inequalities and the application of Natural Language Processing in Sociology and Political Science.
