PhD Topic: Digital transformation in (as) practice

Karin Ahlbäck is a scholar-practitioner conducting part-time PhD research in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science while simultaneously engaged in advancing the digital services transformation of a global engineering company. She is interested in how strategy and organisational change are realised in practice, and her PhD explores how digital transformation unfolds ‘on the ground’ in an incumbent organisation. Karin uses practice-based approaches and qualitative ethnographic methods in her research.
Karin’s background is in management consulting with focus on organisational transformations and agile organisation design. She holds a MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology from LSE, and a MSc (Technology) from Aalto University in Finland.
