About

About

Juliana Oliveira-Cunha is a PhD student in Economic Geography at the London School of Economics (LSE), focusing on the interplay between urbanisation and structural transformation in lower-income contexts.

She also works as a Policy Economist at the Cities that Work initiative of the International Growth Centre (IGC), where she has been since 2022. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between economic research and policymaking in developing countries by translating robust evidence into clear urban policy guidance.

From 2020 to 2022, Juliana worked as a Pre-Doctoral Research Assistant at the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the LSE. She holds an MSc (with distinction) in Social Policy from the LSE and a BSc in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).
