Jessie received her PhD in Sustainable Development from Columbia University. Prior to her
graduate studies, she held research assistant positions at the Harvard Kennedy School and
the Center for Global Development. She completed her undergraduate degree in
Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania.
Jessie’s research examines the social costs of environmental degradation. She focuses on
linking biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation to measurable impacts on human
welfare. Much of her work draws from ecology to supplement economic reduced form
methods.
